Authorities continue search efforts after a deadly tornado devastated Barnsdall in northeastern Oklahoma late Monday night. Mayor Johnny Kelley confirmed that a person died after a tornado hit Barnsdall, and one other person is unaccounted for. Information about the person who died has not been released.The mayor said the Tulsa Fire Department and its dogs are conducting a secondary search. Cleanup will begin once the search is done.Kelley added that seven or eight people were also injured, and a firefighter was taken to a hospital with chest pains. Several homes were destroyed, with some being completely leveled. Oklahoma Emergency Management officials said Monday night’s tornado damaged 30-40 homes in Barnsdall.A nursing home was also hit, and Kelley said residents were sent to other health care facilities. The extent of the nursing home’s damage is unknown.“Toughest thing on me as mayor, this is a small community,” Kelley said. “I know 75-80% of this town.
