COACH MIKE BOYNTON WITH A LOSS OF. OKLAHOMA CITY HAS SOME GREAT HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TRADITION. THE DOUGLASS TROJANS STARTED WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE 1930S AND HAVE PICKED UP STEAM SINCE THEN. DOUGLAS WON FOUR STRAIGHT TITLES FROM 2011 THROUGH 2014, AND WHEN THEY’VE MADE IT TO STATE, THEY’VE WON 27 CONSECUTIVE WINS AND NINE TITLES FOR THE TROJANS SINCE 2010. FORMER MIDWEST CITY STANDOUT STEPHEN ALEXANDER HAS BEEN LEADING THE TROJANS PROGRAM FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. DOUGLAS HAD A RALLY FROM 20 POINTS DOWN IN THE SECOND HALF SATURDAY NIGHT TO DEFEAT WEATHERFORD IN OVERTIME FOR THE CLASS FOUR AA CROWN PAST ALEXANDER. WHAT IT MEANS TO GO BACK TO BACK FOR ONE OF THE GREAT PROGRAMS IN OKLAHOMA JUST TO WATCH THESE KIDS. I MEAN, THE WHOLE COMMUNITY FOLLOWED THEM, THEM BEING LEADERS IN THE COMMUNITY, IT MEANS A LOT. IT DOES. I MEAN, TO HAVE THIS THIS DOUGLAS PROGRAM BACK WHERE I THINK IT BELONGS, WHICH IS ONE OF THE TOP PROGRAMS IN THE STATE. WHAT DOES IT MEAN JUST TO BE HOLDING THAT TROPHY AGAIN
