Along with casting their votes on who they want the presidential nominees will be in November, Logan County residents decided on three propositions that will have a big impact on the area.
With 100% of precincts reporting, voters approved all three propositions by a large margin.
One would support fire stations across the county by extending the already existing quarter-cent sales tax that's set to expire at the end of the year. Logan County oversees 14 fire departments and would split the money among those stations.
The proposition passed with nearly 83% of the vote.
Another would provide funds for the Logan County Jail. Charlie Meadows, the Logan County commissioner representing District 2, said the funding would bring more opportunities to have a well-run jail. The proposition passed with 69% of the vote.
The third looks to improve county roads and bridges. It passed with 82% of the vote.
"This is the fifth fastest-growing county in the state," Meadows said. "It has been for several years, and so let's just keep the progress growing. Let's keep moving it forward."
