According to the Kroll Settlement Administration, which was appointed to oversee the settlement, the company agreed to pay $2 million to settle a class action lawsuit accusing the cafe chain of misleading customers about prices and fees for delivery orders. The settlement terms say customers can receive vouchers or an electronic cash payment.
According to Kroll, to receive payment you can submit a claim form to the Class Action Settlement Administrator postmarked on or before June 10, 2024, or online by June 10, 2024.
To begin submitting your claim, head to deliverypricesettlement.com, click the "Documents" button and download the "Claim Form" PDF. Once you fill out the claim form, you can then mail or fax the claim.
USA Today says the plaintiffs who filed the lawsuit said they paid more than expected for delivery orders. Panera was accused of misleading customers about the cost of delivery fees and menu prices.
The lawsuit alleged that Panera promised to provide customers with either free or low-cost deliveries with a $1 or flat rate if they ordered through the company's mobile app or website. However, customers reported that Panera charged hidden fees.
This is not the only major lawsuit Panera has faced recently. Panera has faced three separate lawsuits claiming the high levels of caffeine in its Charged Lemonade led to the death of two customers and irreversible health complications in another, CNN says.
