KOCO 5 First Alert Storm Command was in the area of Gage, where Field Meteorologist Michael Armstrong says at least two homes were destroyed by the fire. Several vehicles were also burned.
Michael was on the scene of a trailer that was completely burned to the ground just northwest of Gage.
With as bad as the winds were, Michael said it was miraculous firefighters were able to save as many homes as they did. A homeowner living one mile outside of Gage described the situation.
"It's crazy. I'm lucky, really lucky, that it's not my house," said Audrey Mackey, a homeowner. "It is crazy weather, but nothing like this. Never had to deal with anything like this."
Evacuations were issued for the area, as well as near Shattuck.
Officials expect fires to continue burning through the night, but the fire danger is expected to drop as cooler air moves in.
