The wreck took place in Clawson, and right after it happened, the dog, Aries, ran right down the road until she eventually arrived at Hounds Town Metro Detroit.

Aries is a smart almost 4-year-old Pitbull mix who loves treats and kisses.

Owner Melissa Fickel always knew Aries was smart but didn't know just how smart she could be.

Last Saturday around noon the two were off to the park to enjoy the nice weather when at an intersection, Fickel was run into by another car.

“I had the windows down because Aries likes to hang her head out and as soon as there was that smack, as soon as I felt and heard it almost instantaneously, she was out the window," Fickel said.

Aries, spooked by the crash, bolted from the car.

She could've run into neighborhoods, into the middle of the road, but she instead ran straight to the doggy daycare she frequently visits about a mile away from the accident.

"Like this is where I go and this is where I stay,” Travis Ogden, owner of Hounds Town, said on what he thought Aries must’ve been thinking. “She did seem like she knew what to do."

Surveillance shows her running straight up to the front door, jumping up and down, trying to get help.

“She was literally knocking on the door, like, ‘Could somebody let me in?’" Fickel said.

As she was dealing with the accident and police, Fickel said she was worried she may never see Aries again.

But that's when Ogden gave her a call.

"Luckily then he called me and said she's here and I literally sank to the ground," Fickel said.

No one was seriously hurt in the accident.
