Puppy given up because of disability now has a new foot and a new family
A German Shepherd puppy in Mississippi was given up last week because he had a limp but has since found a new family thanks to the help of a group that helps adopt, foster and rescue animals.
After the puppy was surrendered, an animal control officer asked Chrissy Cheshire with Cheshire Abbey, the group that helps rescue animals, if they could help.
Within minutes they had five candidates that wanted to adopt the puppy, who is missing part of his paw.
While the officer was in the process of choosing the perfect forever home for the dog, Cheshire called "the amazing people at Buckner Prosthetics on Lakeland Drive in Flowood to see if they could help," and they were all in.
"They are making him a foot so he isn't in pain anymore and his hip can be aligned properly as he grows," Cheshire said.
"I am so thankful for their help with this sweet boy! And the officer picked a great home for him, too," she said.
