A total solar eclipse crossed North America on April 8, with the moon completely blocking the face of the sun, darkening the sky and creating a path of totality for so many parts of the United States. But there are more eclipses on the horizon. According to NASA, the next solar eclipse will be an annular solar eclipse on Oct. 2, and it will be visible in South America. A partial eclipse will be visible in North America. In order to view any solar eclipse, you’ll need the right eye protection designed for solar viewing. It will be visible in Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia and a small area of Portugal. Parts of North America will be able to see a partial eclipse, but the next total solar eclipse that will be viewable in the United States will be on Aug. 22, 2044. Totality will only occur over North Dakota and Montana.
