AND FOR THEIR LAST DAY, THE OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR REQUIRED MINORS TO HAVE AN ADULT WITH THEM. AFTER. 5 P.M. I WOULDN’T SEE IT HELPING MUCH. YOU KNOW, I MEAN, IF SOMEBODY’S OUT HERE TO CAUSE A RUCKUS, THEY’RE GOING TO THEY’RE GOING TO CAUSE A RUCKUS. WHETHER THERE’S KIDS OR NOT. POLICE SAY ONE VICTIM IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER A SHOOTING AT THE STATE FAIR CAUSED A PANIC SATURDAY NIGHT. THERE WAS AN ALTERCATION THAT OCCURRED IN THE BENNETT EVENT CENTER BETWEEN TWO GROUPS OF PEOPLE DURING THAT ALTERCATION. ONE PERSON PULLED OUT A GUN OR PRODUCED A GUN AND FIRED A SHOT AT ANOTHER PERSON. BUT HOW DID A GUN GET INTO THE FAIR? NOT SURE HOW THIS INDIVIDUAL GOT THEIR WEAPON INTO THE PROPERTY. OBVIOUSLY, WE’LL BE REVIEWING THE TAPES TO TRY TO DETERMINE THAT. WE ASKED FAIR GOERS THAT MADE IT TO THE LAST DAY HOW THEY FELT BEING THERE AFTER THE SHOOTING. HONESTLY, I FEEL IT LOOKS LIKE EVERYBODY FEELS SAFE. IT SEEMS BUSY FOR THE LAST DAY OF THE FAIR. I WAS FINE COMING THROUGH THE DAY. MY COMFORT LEVEL WAS NOT TO COME IN THE EVENING AND THE FAIR MAINTAINS THAT THEIR ENTRY PROCESS IS SECURE, BUT ADDED A 5:00 CURFEW FOR MINORS IN RESPONSE TO THIS SHOOTING. A shooting at the Oklahoma State Fair over the weekend left one person in critical condition and had others questioning security.State fair officials said they believe their systems worked and that Saturday's shooting was an outlier situation.People KOCO 5 spoke to said they thought the fair had security under control before the Oklahoma State Fair closed for the final time for the 2023 season. "Obviously, we'll be reviewing the tapes and try to determine that."KOCO 5 asked fairgoers who made it to the last day how they felt about being there after the shooting."Honestly, I feel like it looks like everybody feels safe. It seems busy for the last day of the fair," James Clark said."I was fine coming through the day. My comfort level was not to come in the evening," Verna Shimasaki added.Fair officials maintained their entry process is secure but added the 5 p.m. curfew for minors on Sunday in response to the shooting. "We have scanners at the gates. We've turned some guns away at the gate.
