How can Oklahomans prepare for the fall storm season?

KOCO 5 Meteorologist Sabrina Bates talked to the National Weather Service.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO BE PREPARED FOR DURING THIS FALL STORM SEASON? YEAH. WELL, SEVERE WEATHER IN OKLAHOMA CAN REALLY BE ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. WE KNOW WE SEE A PEAK IN THE SPRING. AND WHILE WE DON’T SEE IT EVERY YEAR, OKLAHOMA CAN HAVE A SECOND SEVERE WEATHER SEASON IN THE FALL. THIS WEEK, WE START TO SEE A TINY TRANSITION OVER TO FALL STORM SEASON. BUT IT REALLY SHOWS UP AROUND OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER. DESTRUCTIVE WINDS, MASSIVE HAIL AND TORNADOES ARE ALL PART OF SEVERE WEATHER HERE IN THE STATE. IT’S JUST ALWAYS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT SEVERE WEATHER SEASON CAN BE ANY TIME HERE IN OKLAHOMA. WE’RE ALL REALL
