Video: Real estate agent fined after being caught chugging milk from seller's fridge
A Canadian real estate agent got caught on surveillance video opening a seller's fridge and chugging out of the milk jug for about 6 seconds while waiting for potential buyers to arrive for a showing.
The sellers weren't pleased by the footage of the incident.
"The idea of it just grosses me out," said homeowner Lyska Fullerton.
Although the incident occurred last year, the real estate agent, Mike Rose, was hit with nearly $17,000 U.S. dollars in penalties and costs this week.
The British Columbia Financial Services Authority calls it "conduct unbecoming."
Fullerton confronted Rose when the episode happened.
"I asked him, I said, 'Is there anything you want to tell me about the last time you were in my home?' And he said, 'Oh the milk incident.' He was just so nonchalant about it," Fullerton said.
Fullerton also said Rose accidentally broke her couch by sitting on the arm.
Although CNN wasn't able to reach Rose, he has apologized for his "very unfortunate, and very uncharacteristic" decision.
"I have never done this kind of thing before, nor will I ever behave in this way again," Rose told a local Canadian news outlet CFJC.
Rose also told CFJC he was "unusually dehydrated due to a new medication he consumed earlier that day and dealing with personal issues which had caused him considerable stress at the time."
