Architectural Surfaces: Culture of Creation
Design and you know, countertops in general, are really surprisingly connected to many things. Architectural Surfaces is a slab company. I also think that we are a customer service company. This is a very dynamic business. Every day there's something going on. There's immense growth in the company. I did go from zero to... very, very quickly. There really is a lot of opportunity. If you are eager to collaborate with anyone and everyone, guarantee this would be a great place for you. Everybody that's here really cares about number one, the customers that we're serving, but then also we all really like the material that's coming in. We're all really excited about the product that we're selling and I think you know that comes through to our customers. It's nice to be able to pick out things that you know are going to be special to someone in their home one day. My career with Architectural Surfaces actually started in the showroom about 10 years ago and I worked my way into showroom manager. Then I did some outside sales and I've been in operations for about six years now. Everyone here at Architectural Surfaces is very passionate about what they do. That was kind of my experience where I was trained by someone very passionate and knowledgeable about not just stone, but also the design world. So I took an interest in that and picked her brain about a lot of stuff. It was a program, a manager and trainee program. They were like hey I've seen how you work I think this might be an opportunity. Would you maybe like to try it out and I was like let's do it. I started kind of jumping from one location to the next depending on where they were needing to back field and operations managers. It's a great company to work for, they do care about internal growth. I think for me that's one of the best parts of the job. Architectural Surfaces is more of a family-like atmosphere. We are wanting to get to know you, wanting to get to understand you, and also wanting you to progress. Hey! A favorite part of the job is comparing my samples with the slabs. Looking at a color Marmo Corchia. Lay it out on the sales floor. So here's Terra Sol and here's the sample. Terra Sol, you look good! I love the people that I work with and interact with all over the United States. Wonderful encouraging; we are a team that is willing to help you, is willing to fulfill any tasks with you and not leave you behind. I feel like my story is one of opportunity. I actually came from a vitamin industry and moved into the stone world not knowing anything about what I was getting into. I was hired to do logistics which I definitely had to learn along the way. From there I moved into a marketing role and now landed where I am today which is Executive Assistant and Special Projects Manager. My job's a little unique in that literally every day is different. It depends on what's going on with the executive team. Are they traveling? Are they in-house? I do a lot with coordinating the in-house meetings. There's never a dull moment. The culture is really developed by everybody working together. It's never kind of a, "well that's not my job” situation. It's a team effort to all be successful. There really is a lot of opportunity in different parts of this business, whether it's operations, sales, finance, HR. It's a good place to call home.
