UPDATE FOR YOU JUST IN AT NINE NEW DETAILS ABOUT THAT MACHETE ATTACK AT A METRO MOTEL. THE SUSPECT STILL ON THE RUN. KOCO AUDREY GOODSON JOINS US WITH WHAT OFFICERS HAVE TOLD US SO FAR. POLICE TELL US THIS MACHETE ATTACK WAS THE SECOND INCIDENT THAT’S HAPPENED AT THE PLAZA AND SINCE LAST NIGHT. THE FIRST WAS A POSSIBLE FIGHT WITH SHOTS FIRED AND THE SECOND, A MACHETE ATTACK. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT WHEN POLICE GOT A CALL THAT A FIGHT HAD BROKEN OUT AT THE MOTEL AND SHOTS WERE FIRED. WHEN OFFICERS GOT THERE, THEY COULDN’T FIND ANY SUSPECTS OR VICTIMS, BUT THEY DID FIND BLOOD AT THE SCENE. THE SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE 2:00 THIS MORNING WHEN POLICE ARRIVED, THEY FOUND ONE MAN WHO HAD BEEN ATTACKED WITH THAT MACHETE. THE VICTIM TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES. POLICE DO SAY THE SUSPECT IN THIS IS STILL ON THE RUN. OFFICERS WENT TO A ROOM IN THAT MOTEL LOOKING FOR THE MACHETE. THAT’S WHERE THEY FOUND A MAN ARMED WITH A GUN. BUT THEY SAY HE WAS NOT INVOLVED WITH THE MACHETE ATTACK OR THE SHOTS FIRED CALL. INSTEAD, HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON UNRELATED WARRANTS. THAT SCENE IS CLEAR NOW. OFFICERS SAY THEY DON’T BELIEVE THAT THESE TWO INCIDENTS ARE RELATED.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been attacked or stabbed in the arm with a machete.The victim was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
