THIS WHOLE. WELL, ABBY, JUST IT’S BEEN MONTHS AND STILL NO ONE’S TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY. NOW, YOU CAN SEE THIS IS WHERE THE HOLE WAS. YOU CAN STILL SEE THE SAND. BUT NOW IT’S OVERGROWN WITH GRASS. NOW, TODAY WE TALKED WITH ODOT AND THEY SAID THEY’RE ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR STATE HIGHWAYS FROM CURB TO CURB. AND WE ALSO REACHED OUT TO THE CITY OF MIDWEST CITY, BUT THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO COMMENT. BACK IN OCTOBER, A WOMAN SPENT THE NIGHT AT THE BOTTOM OF AN EIGHT FOOT DEEP HOLE SKY 5 OVER THE SCENE, SHOWING YOU THE BREAKING NEWS. THE WOMAN WAS FOUND BY A COUPLE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. I WANT TO GO ON THE ROCKS TODAY. I’VE NEVER DONE. AND IT IS JUST I CANNOT BELIEVE I FOUND HER LIKE THAT. DID IT MAKE YOU CRY? I KNOW I AM, TOO. AND I’VE BEEN DOING THAT FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. YOU GUYS HANG IN THERE AND JUST KEEP HER CONSCIOUS. FIRST RESPONDERS PULLING HER OUT AND TAKING HER TO THE HOSPITAL TO BE LOOKED AT. SHE WAS STABLE AND LATER RELEASED. BUT NOW SHE SAYS SHE FACES HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS IN MEDICAL BILLS. THIS LAWSUIT FILED BY HER ATTORNEY SAYS SHE CURRENTLY OWES OVER 100 IN $3,000 IN MEDICAL EXPENSES. AND MORE COULD COME BASED ON HER PHYSICAL AND MENTAL PAIN AND SUFFERING. HER ATTORNEY TOLD KOCO TODAY THIS LAWSUIT WAS FILED BECAUSE NOBODY IS ADMITTING FAULT AND THEY NEED TO FIND OUT WHO’S RESPONSE ABLE. HE SAYS THEY WANT TO WORK WITH WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT HOLE TO RESOLVE THIS. ODOT, WHO IS BEING SUED BY THE WOMAN, TOLD KOCO TODAY. WHILE THEY HAVE SYMPATHY FOR WHAT HAPPENED AND DON’T WANT ANYONE HURT THEIR ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING HIGHWAY IS CURB TO CURB WITHIN MUNICIPAL POLITIES. THIS WHOLE WAS ON THE GRASS IN THE CITY OF MIDWEST CITY FILLED IT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WOMAN WAS RESCUED. NOW AGAIN, WE DID REACH OUT TO THE CITY OF MIDWEST CITY TODAY AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO COMMENT. BUT BACK IN OCTOBER THEY TOLD US THAT SINCE NORTHEAST 23RD IS TECHNICALLY A STATE HIGHWAY, THIS WOULD BE ODOT RESPONSIBILITY. ODOT TOLD US TODAY THAT’S NOT TRUE. SO THE MYSTERY STILL REMAINS. AN
