U.S. Marshals arrested Joey Mena Friday morning in the 4000 block of Southeast 45th Street in Oklahoma City. They also arrested two other people on complaints of harboring a fugitive.
Mena walked away from his cell at the Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva on Saturday. He's serving a sentence for larceny and stolen property out of Oklahoma County.
A U.S. Marshals search with the Oklahoma City Police Department's help caused a large police presence Tuesday morning in southeast OKC.
"U.S. Marshals task forces combine the efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the most dangerous fugitives in our communities," Johnny L. Kuhlman, the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Oklahoma, said in a news release. "The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is a long-standing partner of this task force, and we are grateful for their support.”
