The Oklahoma City Thunder has rescinded its qualifying offer to guard Dion Waiters, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent, according Yahoo Sports.Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports that Oklahoma City could still sign Waiters, but other teams such as Philadelphia and Brooklyn may offer him more money than the Thunder can.ESPN reported earlier Monday that the signing of Alex Abrines of FC Barcelona could lead to the Thunder passing on signing Waiters.Waiters has been a member of the Thunder for about a season and a half.During the 2015-16 season, Waiters averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game and shot 40 percent from the field.
