2 Cowboys, Sooner earn Big 12 honors
Two Oklahoma State and one Oklahoma football players earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors for their performances against Texas Tech and Kansas, the conference announced Monday.Defensive ends Emmanuel Ogbah and Charles Tapper were named the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week, and wide receiver James Washington earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor.Ogbah recorded seven tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries during the No. 12 Cowboys' 70-53 victory against Texas Tech. This marks the third time this season he has taken home the honor.Tapper had three sacks and forced two fumbles during the Sooners' 62-7 win against Kansas. Oklahoma's defense held the Jayhawks to 216 total yards.The Big 12 honor is his first and fourth for the an Oklahoma player.Washington was a big part of Oklahoma State's comeback win, catching four touchdowns for 200 yards, 148 of which coming during the fourth quarter. He became the first Cowboy to put up 200 receiving yards in a game since Justin Blackmon did so in 2011.Dez Bryant is the only other Oklahoma State player to catch for 200 yards in a single game.
