Buck King storm chases for KOCO 5 in northwest Oklahoma, based out of Woodward. King is an Oklahoma native and grew up in Verdigris before graduating from Claremore High School in Claremore.

He has always been fascinated with weather and storm chasing is a passion.

He’s a career educator and currently serves as a high school vice principal in Woodward.

Storm chasing is part of his dedication to helping others. Seeing the impact that severe storms have had on his home community of Woodward with the deadly tornado of April 15, 2012 and it’s effect on his students and their families is one of his prime motivators. He chases to help protect people and deliver critical information to save lives.

King is thrilled to be a part of the KOCO First Alert Storm Team and takes pride in being the eyes in the field for Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane and KOCO 5 viewers.

King and his wife live in Woodward, OK. He’s the proud father of two grown children and loves spending time with his five grandchildren.
